What you need
You need the catalog’s OPDS address. Obtain it from the service or the person running the library server. A website’s home-page address may not be its OPDS address.
Adding a catalog makes it available in Drives. Its books are added to your library only when you download them.
Add a catalog
- Open Drives, tap + or Add source, then choose OPDS catalog.
- Enter a Name for the catalog and its address in Catalog URL.
- Under Sign-in, leave Anonymous selected for a public catalog. If it requires credentials, select Username & password and fill in both fields.
- Tap Save source, then open the catalog from Drives.
Libra checks the catalog when you first open it. A newly saved catalog is listed as unverified until that check runs.
Browse and download books
Open the catalog and follow its categories to find a book. Search is available when the catalog supplies a supported search service; the catalog determines which results it returns.
Tap the download button beside a book. On wider screens it is labelled Download. If Libra displays Choose a format, select the version you want to read.
The downloaded file is saved to On My Device. After Libra processes it, the book also appears in Library. Downloading requires a network connection to the catalog.
Downloaded books are stored inside the app. Deleting Libra also deletes its local book files, so keep another copy if you need a backup.
Edit or remove a catalog
Open Settings → OPDS catalogs. Use the edit icon beside a catalog to change its configuration.
To remove a catalog, tap its trash icon and confirm with Remove. This removes the address and saved credentials. Books already downloaded to On My Device remain there.
If a catalog does not open
- Check that you entered the OPDS address rather than an ordinary web page.
- If the catalog requires sign-in, check its username and password in Settings.
- If the server runs on your home network, make sure your device can reach that network.
Use the reload button in the catalog to try again after correcting the connection.
